Policy - Study and Conference Rooms

The Library has three (3) meeting rooms that are available to the public during the regular hours that the library is open. Rooms may be reserved in 1 or 2-hour increments, with the option to extend, based on availability. 

  • Small Room (#209) - May be reserved by one or more people, with maximum capacity of 4 people.
  • Medium Room (#208) - May be reserved by two or more people, with maximum capacity of 8 people.
  • Large Room (#207) - May be reserved by two or more people, with maximum capacity of 10 people.

Policy

  • No business solicitation nor financial transactions may take place in the Conference or Study Room.
  • Advance registration requests can be submitted no more than two (2) months in advance.
  • Rooms may be reserved in 1 or 2-hour increments, with the option to extend, based on availability.
  • The library reserves the right to limit usage to no more than three (3) hours per day and two (2) times per week, to ensure equitable use of library facilities.
  • Failure to check in with library staff within 10 minutes of the reservation start time may result in your reservation being cancelled and passed to the next waiting party.
  • The room will be released/opened to room applicant upon arrival of two (2) or more meeting attendees.
  • Rooms left unattended will be relinquished.
  • Covered drinks are permissible; however, food is not allowed in the conference or study room.
  • Please return room to the order in which you found it. No trash left behind, lights off and space heaters (if used) off and unplugged from outlet.
  • The study room, furnishings and equipment must be left in good condition.
  • Volume level must be kept low as to not disturb those in adjacent quiet areas.
  • Check-in with library staff upon arrival for room use and upon exit when finished.
  • Library programs, events and co-sponsored programs take precedence for the use of meeting spaces and are not subject to this policy.

Failure to follow this policy may result in the loss of future reservation and use privileges. In publicizing a meeting to be held in a library meeting room, the sponsoring group must be clearly identified. Groups must not imply library sponsorship of their program or organization or include the library’s contact information in their publicity. Permission to use a public gathering place does not constitute an endorsement by the Library or the City of Myrtle Beach of the program or point of view expressed.
